Format

The journal is available in two formats: journal and website.

Surgery is published on a topic-by-topic basis in journal format. Unlike conventional textbooks, Surgery is completely contemporary and each article can be revised within days of publication. Each issue is published in full colour and articles are comprehensively illustrated.

Surgery Online is the Internet edition of the monthly journal plus additional material, including the 'Surgical and clinical anatomy for the MRCS examination' series run by Professors Harold Ellis and Vishy Mahadevan from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. These articles (which are available only on Surgery Online) are festooned with illustrations from 'Atlas of human anatomy' by Frank Netter, one of the most important anatomy textbooks.

Subscribers can search for any article that has been published in the journal on Surgery Online.

Journal subscribers receive free access to Surgery Online. Non-subscribers may view sample issues and abstracts. For full access, you must be a journal subscriber or you can purchase online access separately.
